Michelle Hedgcock

Lapeer

Hero Story

Michelle Hedgcock has served as a volunteer with Lapeer County’s 4-H program for over 6 years now and was a 4-H club member herself in her youth. She is the founder and current leader of the Imagination Unlimited 4-H club—which contains mostly older-youth individuals with the main goal of preparing them for the future.

As many 4-H programs were formerly dependent on being in-person, the current COVID-19 pandemic has been quite a challenge. However, Michelle did not let that stop her from engaging with the youth in her club; instead of doing all in-person events she decided to switch to doing virtual events for the time being. Michelle has continued to mentor them about planning for the future in terms of college, financial planning, and more. Michelle has done a great job going above and beyond for her club and community!
