Gordon has made a lasting change over multiple generations of people as well as our planet. At Meals on Wheels Western Michigan, he serves a senior population of people over 60 years old. He greets each client and helps ensure they have chosen the correct amount of food from each category at the pantry. He gives social connection to clients and helps our organization to provide fresh and healthy food to those in need. He has changed the lives of school-age children by packing meals and snacks for them to eat while at home and over the weekend. He is impacting our local ecosystems by planting native plants to be enjoyed by future Michiganders. His impact of giving back goes well beyond the local community into multiple countries. His service has supported the learning of English and proper nutrition.
Gordon has been an inspiration for others to serve by encountering each volunteer experience with a smile, good attitude, and friendly spirit.
