Hero Story

On the evening of Thursday, August 24th, there were approximately 9 tornadoes that tore through Mid-Michigan along with damaging winds and torrential rain. In the path of one of those storms was an adult foster care home located in a community near to us, Williamston, which resulted in their roof collapsing.

In the middle of the night, Leslie (as administrator and CEO of ICMCF/Dobie Road) answered their call for help and 15 residents of that damaged AFC home were transferred to the safety of Dobie Road. Leslie worked tirelessly to organize the team and ensure we had enough staff, food, blankets, etc. for the displaced residents so they felt comfortable and safe.

Leslie truly cares about the community around us, makes decisions based on our mission of being Dedicated to Improving Lives, and answers the call for those in need – even in the middle of the night.
