Hero Story

Hady Omar is a junior at Michigan State University involved in a number of different groups and associations across MSU, devoting his time outside of classes and holding various executive positions on student organizations. Hady serves the Associated Students at Michigan State University (ASMSU) as representative for the College of Natural Science. Hady also holds leadership positions as the Vice President for the Arab Cultural Society and as Treasurer for the Refugee Outreach Collective. Hady has worked as the Research Assistant at the Physics Education Research Lab and as a Student Intern at MSU Pediatrics where he has contributed hundreds of hours of service over the last year. Hady is also a peer mentor for Drew Scholars where he helps with college transition, mentoring, schooling, etc. and is a mentor at the refugee development center where he assists his mentee in math and other subjects. At the beginning of this year, Hady was one of five recipients of the Spartan Volunteer Service Award. He has over 662 hours of service.
