Hero Story
Ann's 15 years of leadership began as the founding member of Free & Charitable Clinics of Michigan (FCOM). The communities that have been impacted by the primary care they receive from volunteer physicians, nurses, pharmacists and others would not be possible without Ann's vision, perseverance, and joy that she puts into everything she does to ensure that healthcare is accessible to all but specifically the uninsured. Ann has given over 21,000 of volunteer hours in her tenure as CEO and Board President of Free & Charitable Clinics of Michigan.
Ann' leadership efforts in expanding Free Clinics of Michigan and its current 42 member clinics has enacted our state's best practices for operating and providing care for the uninsured and underserved in our state. She is very connected with the National Association of Free Clinics and is a valuable member of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Safety Net Conference Planning Committee.
Ann has inspired me and my fellow FCOM Board Members tremendously, that life's biggest impact and journeys begin after retirement. To quantify the lives Ann has impacted by creating this worthwhile organization could take another 15 years! She will tell you that the work she provides for FCOM is a prescription for healthy living, but to her colleagues and impacted patients, she is "our hero"!
