Hero Story

Claire has devoted her life to volunteering. Over the last 40+ years, she has made a lasting impression on the community of Marquette through her activities with emphasis on making our home more beautiful and healthy. She believes in the value of beauty and exercise and has centered her volunteer activities to this end. A great example is apparent when you come into the city of Marquette from the west and see the beautiful garden Claire has created at the Welcome sign. Furthermore, she has endless energy and always has a smile on her face. She is an inspiration to other volunteers due to her positive and energetic outlook. She's determined and persistent in her endeavors and sees projects through to the finish.
Her volunteer activities include working with the Superiorland Soccer Association, Superiorland Ski Club, Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee, Many years as a Master Gardener and the Marquette Yacht Club Garden Committee as well as other organizations.
