Hero Story

Skyler was in the foster system most of his life, until age 12. He is now 17 and has turned his victimization on it's head and now helps others as a regular part of his weekly life. He has put in over 800 volunteer hours at the Macomb Foster Closet helping over 2,000 children in care like himself every single year. He has also put in over 400 hours at the Warren Woods Food Pantry where he has helped distribute over 1 million pounds of food to over 28,000 people in need in his local community. He just graduated high school and the fire academy at the same time and looks forward to being in public service.
