Tuesday Toolmen

Hero Story

The Tuesday Toolmen are a group of four (five during the summer) skilled tradespeople who give of their time every Tuesday to keep seniors and others in our community safely in their homes. This involves building and installing ramps, fixing leaks and working on toilets/toilet lifts, rewiring, installing storm doors and doors, installing grab bars, creating wider stairs and railings, etc. There is no project that is too small or too big for the Toolmen. They selflessly give of their time and talent every Tuesday, led by their lead Dave Coyne. Despite being legally blind, Dave leads the Toolmen on every project, and they often build the ramps in Dave's workshop. They have also selflessly helped the United Way, such as building half a dozen little libraries that were installed at 5toONE playgroup sites to help promote early literacy and language with the smallest of our community.
