Program: Dance Mobility
Dance Mobility is Michigan’s only wheelchair ballroom dancing program for adults and children with physical disabilities. The Dance Mobility program offers dance lessons in a supportive environment while promoting physical, social, and emotional well-being. Group lessons are supported by a grant from the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) Foundation.
Impacts made and being made:
– Designed program experience survey and analyze its data to generate insights and identify improvement and effectiveness opportunities using Tableau.
– Developed a plan of actions to improve the experience of program participants, volunteers, and instructors, and grow the Dance Mobility program.
– Serve others by sharing the joy of movement while gaining deeper understanding about diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI&B).
– Be an advocate who influences others to take interest and participate in the Dance Mobility program.
– Create social media posts on LinkedIn to create awareness about the program and share the logistics information.

I am hoping that by being featured in the Michigan Hero platform, many people will know about the Dance Mobility program and decide to take advantage of health and social benefits by participating in the free Dance Mobility program. This program is for both able- and disabled- bodies. The only requirement to participate is to have the desire to learn to dance!
