I would like to nominate my father Ed Morrow
He is 75 years old
And he is a faithful volunteer at Pontiac Meals on Wheels for over 10 years
In rain snow sleet bad weather holidays and hot humid days… he delivers over 30 meals to homebound seniors 2x a week
He rarely misses a week
He has gone over and above every expectation meals on wheels has given him on days that they need other help.
He is a very talkative and it has a very vibrant personality… sometimes he is the only person the seniors see for weeks;(
He not only drops off food for actual survival he helps the seniors keep a human connection with his weekly visit and his willingness to stay and talk with them.
And he also brings along his 85-year-old friend Bob who cannot actually deliver any meals but sits in the car for the ride and waves out the window when needed!
