Davonte Johnson is 22 years old. And has served with our nonprofit organization LWSC Community Circle since he was 14 years . Although his heart service to the community was initiated because he is my son and I needed help helping the youth it soon became a desire of his own and after serving with us for a few years he begin to venture off with other organizations such as Detroit Bam, Good Jobs Now, that shared his passion of advocacy and increasing the voices of youth at tables concerning youth. He has been an essential vessel of increasing the youth engagement , youth adulation , awareness and turn out when it’s voting time .

3 years ago Davonte founded an organization YVAC that is led by youth for the youth and they is operating in 3 different states in clouding Michigan

Last year Yvac launched its first Youth Essentials Hub inside of East English Village Prepatory Academy
Where they not only provide essentials such as food, school supplies, water , health snack but they are also there to advocate for the youth for their academic success.

In addition this amazing youth leaders of Yvac serves the community by providing and delivering food package, finacial assistance or mutual aid as they call it to youth 16-24 who may be in need of bus fair, household essential and even assistance with their phone bills.

I’m so proud of the work that YVAC is doing under the leadership and guidance of Davonte Johnson .

As the founder of nonprofit organization who serves the community I know how hard it is, and how grassroots organizations that are not well connected but are making a different in the community often times feel overlook and under appreciated and receiving an honor on a state level will fan the flames of their fire to serve the community especially our youth and give them more momentum for the journey ahead of them .
