Hero Story

Marcia Gonstead has been a fervent and effective leader for more than 20 years in Marquette County, Michigan. She has served on the boards of the Noquemanon Trail Network and the Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve, and on the marketing committee of the Big Bay Stewardship Council. She and her husband Sven founded the Big Bay summer concert series in 2018 in Powell Township. She also gives her time to plan and organize the Big Bay Fall Fest, the Big Bay Relay, the Honey Bear Classic Ski Race, and other causes and organizations. Her continued work and advocacy for the Big Bay community has helped transform the community to a destination for many tourist activities and helped preserve the landscape for future generations.
