Hero Story

This hero is one of the most kind and selfless people I know. She organized our village's community food pantry. She secured a location at the Holly Police Department so it would be safe and accessible to all 24/7. Heather also secured the community a refrigerator so residents could have fresh and frozen foods and meat, eggs and poultry, dairy, etc. She continually monitors the contents of the pantry to make sure it is up to date and nothing is expired. She has put out posting on our community Facebook page reminding us all that the pantry is available to all of us. She also sees to it that there are hygiene items and baby formula, etc. She secures funds through donations, but has spent hundreds of her own funds. She even made sure our local kids had pumpkins that she got from a local farmer to have for Halloween. She did dozens of complete food baskets for Thanksgiving. Heather volunteers for the "wee-ones" Christmas gift program for needy families in our community. Its easier to say what this young woman hasn't done. Our community is richer for her being a part of it. She leads and provides with selfless abandon. I NOMINATE HEATHER!! She is my hero!
