KALAMAZOO
Hero Story
I would like to nominate Christopher Hodshire for his ongoing community services. Hodshire, clearly epitomize the concept of “service above self" and has demonstrated a positive impact in many of his good community deeds that always leave a positive impact on Michigan communities. Hodshire worked tireless, jumping in when west Michigan communities needed him the most, including using his own financial resources. Ultimately, Hodshire advocated for the health care, in particular to the hospitals, by bringing them PPE equipments that they so desperately needed during the early stages of the pandemic. By and large, Hodshire had to network and reach out to other nations in a diplomatic way so that he could accesses the needed PPE. After long ongoing communications with a number of players involved, Hodshire was able to successfully access some PPE materials, especially ones that was needed for southwestern Michigan medical communities. Hodshire, who is a long serving board member of the LRSC Lansing Regional Sister Cities and the CAGK Chinese Association Greater Kalamazoo, has been reaching out to his community as well as communities overseas for a number of years. He does this from the heart. Not only that, Hodshire feels he is a global citizen and that he is part of a greater community. I kindly invite the judging community to read the site below of Hodshire's ongoing efforts. In short, Hodshire stepped up to the plate and get things moving when his community needed him the most, is inspiring and worthy to spotlight.
