Hero Story

Elijah is a pillar in the Albion community. He now works as a Resilience Coach at Marshall Middle School, where he works directly with youth as they navigate the tough world of middle school. He also helps kids from Albion transition to attending school in Marshall, since Albion Public Schools was annexed into the Marshall school district in 2016. When he's not helping make a difference in kids' lives at school, he's doing it in the community. During the pandemic, Elijah helped deliver food to students all over the city of Albion, which is especially important because of the lack of transportation within the Albion community. He also is a "go to" person for many who may have a need and not know where to turn for help. He has gathered gloves and socks for elementary students, helped kids get beds, families get groceries, and just is a positive role model for all youth. Elijah is always willing to help anyone and always does it with a smile. His cheerful attitude is infectious, and he brings such joy and light to every situation.
