On September 18, 2021, staff from the Healthy Flint Research Coordinating Center (HFRCC) facilitated a community dialog for military veterans at the VFW 8236 Hall in Flint with interactive conversations focusing on the effects and impact of COVID-19 on veterans and their families. In this judgment-free space, veterans were able to share their experiences resulting from challenges affecting their health, mindset, and overall impact on them, their families, community, and the world. HFRCC staff listened and guided them through engaged conversations allowing them to share and compare how the virus affected veterans. This occasion was very special to the veterans because they recognized that HFRCC specifically focused on the effects of COVID on them and their families. HFRCC staff also provided lunch and gift cards for the veterans in attendance for which they were truly grateful.
