Hero Story
Marjie Jenkins is our high school volunteer robotics coach who epitomizes the words "determination" and "dedication." Her passion and love for the sport of robotics is infectious for her students. Principally, she makes sure our team embodies the FIRST Robotics core values including cooperation, teamwork, and competition. Just recently, she organized a team-building activity as part of the Relay for Life, a cause furthering cancer research. Not only does this help our team members bond together, but it also helps us bond with our community.
Another amazing thing about Marjie is that she empowers students to be leaders in robotics, school, and the community. And that’s just it! Marjie’s idea of robotics extends beyond just a game, it is centered around bettering future generations by advocating for careers in STEM. Personally, our robotics experience has been transformed by Marjie. Through and through, Marjie makes it a priority that everyone is engaged. By fostering such an environment, students are able to cultivate their passions and develop essential skills like teamwork. From volunteering at robotics competitions in her free time to staying late to help students analyze problems, Marjie exemplifies the word dedication. There is no doubt that Marjie is our hero.
