Hero Story

Shadora Ford is single handedly the most impactful woman I have ever met. She runs a program called Destined for Greatness Mentoring. Her program helps young women in Detroit get through high school and stay on a path of goodness and education. Shadora is available all day, every day, to all of her girls. In addition to the work she does for the young women, she runs community outreach events every month. Her events range from supplies for young mothers, to materials for flood victims after intense rainstorms. She has given her life and her soul to the community of Detroit. When people say "boots on the ground," Shadora has her boots, heels, and sneakers on the ground. She does everything with a smile, always has the most positive attitude in the room, and would take the shirt off of her back for anyone. It's people like Shadora that remind you that there are true heroes still left in the world.
