Hero Story

Here’s a rundown of every Give, Serve, Connect effort to date:
Company blood drive—December 2020. Sixty-four employees and family members across all
Workbox’s branches rolled up their sleeves and donated blood or plasma (continued donations)
Charity of Choice Holiday Drive—December 2020. Employees collected for Toys for Tots, local
elementary schools, Mel Trotter Ministries, Salvation Army Angel Tree, Miracle Hill Ministries, and
Burlington Coats for Kids and fed 2,650 needy people Christmas dinner in Grand Rapids. 
Personal Hygiene Item Donations—January 2021. Employees collected over 2,000 items as well as
over $6,000 in monetary donations.
Pet Shelter Donations—February 2021. Employees collected over 1,500 items—and 1,200 pounds of
pet food!
Gently Used or New Book Drive—March 2021. In honor of the national reading month, employees
donated over 700 books to various schools and charity centers.  
Scholastic Book Giveaway—March 2021. Workbox reached out to their communities and asked them
to nominate a deserving teacher to receive $500 in books from Scholastic. They received 70 nominations
and chose five winners.
Community Clean-up—April 2021. Employees cleaned up a portion of the highway (131) in Grand Rapids, six
baseball fields. (continued clean up support at ball fields)
