Besides being a volunteer driver and lead facilitator during onboarding training of volunteer applicants at The Davies Project, Katharine Johnson always steps in without hesitation to help achieve the organization's goals. When the onboarding training had to be via Zoom due to the pandemic, she adjusted quickly and continues to be committed to facilitating the training. Katharine Johnson fills in for as many drive pickups as possible and will pick up additional drive pickups that come in last minute.

She also volunteers with other organizations in the community, such as Meals on Wheels. Taking every precautionary measure under the state of Michigan COVID-19 guidelines, Katharine Johnson has not hesitated to drive families to and from their medical appointments. The Davies Project offered to help the Lansing School District do food deliveries to families in need during the pandemic. Katharine is one of the drivers who offered to be on that team to make the food delivery possible. She is always willing to help in the office on projects or just filling in where needed. She is a jewel to The Davies Project and the Lansing community.
