Kids Empowered offers programs and training to empower children, teens, parents and professionals to deal with unfriendly classmates and friends, bullying and to build confidence, emotional intelligence, character, leadership, self-esteem, fitness and social skills. Programs include: one on one coaching, counseling, summer day camps, classroom and assembly programs, community/private/Scout workshops and professional development!

In addition to her important work with this organization, Kimber is Chair of the Oakland County Task Force on Poverty and Homelessness Task Force. Right at the beginning of the Pandemic Kimber recognized that folks in poverty were going to struggle with getting food. She raised money and organized 50 volunteers to deliver food to 200 families on March 21st and joined My Covid Response to deliver food every Saturday. Currently, and for over 75 weeks she has engaged over 600 volunteers to deliver furniture, clothing, food, and raise money to pay bills including hotel and housing for homeless families. She puts families in touch with services including Lakeshore Legal and accounting. Kimber raised money to buy a mobile home for a family in need and is in the process of buying a 2nd mobile home. Through her non-profit, Kids Empwered On the Move, Kimber organized 175 families to be adopted for Christmas and Easter and created a book buddy program for 50 children to read to their book buddies through zoom.

Through each of these organizations, and simply on her own – as a concerned and compassionate citizen. Kimber has done this kind of work for years and years now. However because of the pandemic's severe impact on our most at-risk and vulnerable individuals and families, Kimber has been giving and extending herself even more since Covid-19 hit.
