Alcona Community Schools

Lincoln

Hero Story

The Alcona Community Schools opened their doors in 1957. they have served 9 townships in Alcona County for 64 years. As the hub of the county, they have provided educational opportunities generation after generation. The FFA is second to none. One of their projects is the Sugar Shack where they collect sap, boil, bottle and sell Maple Syrup. Once a year as they close their maple syrup season, they host a free community pancake breakfast! Beyond the classroom, they offer athletics, have elementary/high school robotics and more. Since they are community minded, they are just finishing up a trail system. They will host Cross Country meets for the first time and the community can utilize this trail for pleasure walks. This year we are adding a Hometown Heroes event that will celebrate the men and women who have walked the halls of the school, whether it be a student or staff member. With classes ranging in size from 10 to 60, we have located and will honor 160 Veterans on September 10th! We are proud of all of our Alcona Tigers!
