Hero Story

Barb Jones recently was nominated and won one of the Barry County United Way's annual Volunteer Awards – Volunteer of the Year. She was recognized for her service assisting the Barry Eaton District Health Department with their COVID vaccine clinics over the last year.
She would lead the charge every day by arriving early, unpacking boxes, setting up the registration table and making sure that everything was in order to start the day. Not only did she come in early, but she often would take on double shifts and stay late to help clean up.

It was a rare occasion for her to not to be at a clinic – as her name was always the first on the list to sign-up. She cares deeply for those in our community and truly gave of herself to help during a time of need.

She assisted hundreds of our Barry County residents in getting their COVID vaccine. The clinics would not have been as successful as they were without her.
