Tyesha Turner
Warren
Hero Story
Tyesha Turner is a young mom and wife with a background in teaching and has a dual degree in Political Science. She took a break from teaching and served 2 years as a VISTA Member with Detroit Public Schools Community District in the Office of Career and College Readiness. Tyesha Turner believes in the power of youth. Even once the COVID-19 pandemic hit, she managed to balance the needs of her increasing responsibilities as a VISTA program leader, the special needs of her son, and handling the training requirements of her 11-member cohort. She continually serves with a laugh and a smile. Her dedication to creating economic opportunity and education for youth is what inspires me to call her Hero.
