Voice for Clinton Cty's Children
St. Johns
Hero Story
The Voice for Clinton County's Children was founded in 2013. The nonprofit agency serves as Clinton County's Child Advocacy Center (CAC) and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Programs.
A CAC is a welcoming, safe space for children and youth to tell their story of human trafficking, physical abuse, and/or sexual assault. The agency partners with the Department of Health and Human Services, law enforcement, medical services, Prosecutor's Office, and social service providers to ensure the systems in place to support do not re-victimize survivors of child abuse.
CASA Volunteers are appointed by the court to advocate for a child or sibling group who are in the foster care system. Children and youth have been removed from their biological parents' care due to abuse and/or neglect. CASA Volunteers visit their appointed child/ren every 7 to 10 days and report to the court about the child's experiences and/or needs while in the foster care system.
This agency has continued all services, which were modified to follow all safety protocols, throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Voice for Clinton County's Children is proud of the advocacy work that has continued even while supporting everyone's safety throughout the pandemic.
