Sue Louchart

Grayling

Hero Story

Sue has been an RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) volunteer since 2018. When signing on to volunteer, Sue has always helped with the Baby Closet at Michaelson Memorial United Methodist Church sewing items for children under the age of 5 to use. This Baby Closet offers clothes, shoes, diapers, blankets, pillows and toys to underprivileged individuals who need items for their kids.

When COVID kicked in Sue began making masks for the local elementary school for kids and staff. She was even sending masks down state to schools. Sue has put in over five hundred hours cutting fabric, materials, assembling and sewing these masks to keep adults and mostly children safe during the pandemic. Sue is a treasure for her commitment to the Baby Closet and to her community during this time.
