Hero Story

Jennifer has been apart of the Boys & Girls Club of Alpena for almost 11 years. She has played an important role in the success of many youth leaders through enhanced programming and mentorship. She dedicates her time above and beyond her work day to ensure that youth have the basic necessities in their life as well as the items to succeed at school, within extracurricular activities and their adult life. Jen takes extra time each day to connect with each member and make sure that they feel welcomed and included. She teaches members how to plant different vegetables to help provide healthy meals to their families.

Jennifer helps hundreds of youth in various ways each year. When Jen is not at the club, the youth look for her and want to ensure her return because she has built trust and security with them. Members know that she is reliable and will do anything that she can to help them. Additionally she never asks for anything return and always humbly accepts any type of recognition. She is a true community hero and without her so many youth would miss out on a lot of opportunities.
